About Wisdom to Keep Moving

Welcome to our collection of video and stories.

Wisdom to Keep Moving‘s name started off as a thought or challenge to keep moving our bodies throughout our lifetimes. Over the years the name’s meaning has evolved. Now the focus of Wisdom to Keep Moving also includes connecting with ourselves and our communities.

“The only thing constant is change,” was a quote my Dad had taped inside the cabinet door in our kitchen. He was right, and I believe that we are at a place in time where we may consider redefining our happiness.

Are you living true to yourself? Have you defined the values and ethics you want to live by? What is important to you?

We often think that we’re not good enough or smart enough to do the thing that we love, or we don’t make enough time for it and we miss out, not recognizing the we are holding ourselves back. We must come out of our comfort zones and try something new that feeds our souls.

Although I love to film other people, I am not always comfortable being in front of the camera. My biggest challenge is speaking in front of a group, and is one of the things I am working on now.

My name is Kate and I had planned to follow my heart into the huge project of making a full length documentary film. My focus has been on transforming 13 years of film into a story about dance and small town life, called “Growing up Dancing: Our Mayama Experience”.

The truth of the matter is that sometimes life comes at you faster than you planned. Or death. Both my Dad and Stepdad passed away in the last few years, and I simply did not have creative energy for a time.

Since then, I am playing with the idea of doing the Mayama film in a series format, which could work well, with multiple years and teams.

Big or small, whatever you enjoy doing, I think you should do it!

Wisdom to Keep Moving is a safe place for honest discussion, inspirational stories and showcasing creativity.
